I was so lucky to have Kim. I can't even start to imagine what it must be like for those without that kind of support or whose support person ups and leaves them when this kind of thing happens.
I was thinking the same, I’ve written many posts about not having a significant other, (although I was married for 20years, single now for 7) and I always say no one has no back , so I do wonder what I would do in such situations. But I apply my singleness to everything sadly.
I found that I had a couple of friends who really stepped up and as a result have become very special to me. I hope that you'd have the same experience if it came to it.
Thanks Wendy - I know that those closest to me are finding it very hard to read. But you're so right - it's amazing what the human body can endure. And as you'll find out next week it can also do some very strange things!
Oh my word! The tension is mounting. I really feel for Kim, your mum and auntie Mary as they wait for the outcome of your illness. Especially Kim who is so persistently there for you and trying to get answers - caring for you
Yes, at that stage it was all much harder for them than me as I had no idea what was happening. The chapter next week centers around Kim as they try to wake me up... you'll be able to hear his desperation for me to simply be able to hold his hand again. I wonder where the book title came from?!
Petrifying Jacqui !!! So glad you had such a supportive partner who was supporting you from the outside and making sure things got gone done.

Yes I’m sure and my sister ☺️
Again, reading with my heart in my mouth, Jacqui, and astonished by the resilience of the human body.
